The Locations page stores reusable destination records for excursion planning. You can maintain parent/child location relationships, capture a structured address, and review which excursions reference a location.Documentation Index

What this screen is for
- Create and edit workspace locations.
- Keep addresses and coordinates consistent using address search.
- See which excursions currently reference a saved location.
What you can see
- Page title Locations with the subtitle Create and maintain reusable destination records for excursion planning.
- An Import button that navigates to the import workflow.
- A New Location button.
- A table with columns for Name, Parent, Address, Updated, and Description.
- Toolbar text filters for name, parent, and address, plus column visibility controls.
- Row actions with Edit location.
- A location panel titled Create Location or Edit Location depending on context.
Common actions
Create a location
Choose New Location to open the panel, complete the Details tab, then choose Create location.Edit a location
Choose Edit location from the row menu, or click the row when editing is allowed.Review linked excursions
Open the Excursions tab on an existing location to see a list of linked excursions. Selecting a name opens that excursion. If the location is not saved yet, the tab explains you must save first.Location details tab fields
- Parent location optional selector, including No parent location
- Location name (required)
- Address required search field using Mapbox search, then saving the selected result and coordinates
- Latitude and Longitude optional manual fields
- Map Preview when coordinates and saved address metadata are available
- Description optional notes such as arrival instructions or meeting points
Empty, loading, and error states
- If locations cannot load, you see Failed to load locations with a message.
- If there are no locations, you see No locations yet.
- If filters hide all rows, you see No locations match the current filters.
- The excursions tab can show loading, error, empty, or a list state with clear copy for each.
Permissions and read-only behaviour
New Location, row click editing, the edit menu item, and saving are disabled when you cannot manage locations.Tips
- Use parent locations when you want a hierarchy such as campus and building.
- Pick the address from search results so coordinates and previews stay aligned.
- Review linked excursions before changing an address that families may already rely on.
